Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about rotational molding, our process, and working with Luban Rotomold.

Rotational Mold Tooling

Luban specializes in cast aluminum molds and forged aluminum molds. Cast aluminum molds are ideal for complex shapes and high surface quality. Forged aluminum molds suit large, simple industrial containers. Both types are CNC-machined in-house for guaranteed dimensional accuracy.

CNC machining ensures precise parting lines and significantly reduces flash (burrs), lowering post-processing costs. Tight tolerances produce better part appearance and stronger batch-to-batch consistency compared to hand-crafted molds.

We offer sandblasting, Teflon coating, texture patterns (automotive-quality), and high-gloss polishing. Surface finish is selected based on the end product's visual and functional requirements.

Our molds maintain dimensional stability through thousands of heating and cooling cycles, achieved through high-grade aluminum, optimized wall thickness design, and reinforced rib structures.

B2B OEM Rotomolded Parts

We provide high-performance OEM parts for floor scrubber machines, construction machinery, medical equipment, and the automotive industry. Typical products include floor scrubber water tanks, construction machinery fuel tanks, medical device enclosures, and automotive interior panels.

Rotomolded parts are seamless, hollow, and stress-free with high corner strength — outperforming injection or blow-molded parts in overall structural integrity. The process naturally deposits more material at corners and complex geometries.

Yes — using high-strength modified PE, our rotomolded parts can match the load-bearing and impact resistance of various metal parts while being lighter and corrosion-resistant, making them cost-effective alternatives in industrial storage tanks, equipment housings, and structural panels.

We use in-mold metal insert technology: inserts are placed into the mold before the rotomolding cycle, forming a permanent high-strength bond without secondary assembly. Commonly used for studs, mounting brackets, and reinforcing plates.

Through precision cooling fixtures and optimized molding cycle control, we achieve industry-leading tolerances of ±1% or better for high-tolerance OEM applications.

We offer CNC trimming, drilling, flame treatment, anti-static coating, and component assembly — delivering ready-to-use finished products and eliminating the need to coordinate multiple suppliers.

Rotomolded Finished Products

Yes — all outdoor products use raw materials with UV8 or higher grade stabilizers, ensuring they can withstand intense sunlight for over 10 years without fading or becoming brittle.

Our rotomolded coolers feature a seamless double-shell structure filled with high-density polyurethane foam, achieving over 72 hours of ice retention under standard conditions.

Yes — our industrial-grade PE tanks resist acids, alkalis, and common wastewater treatment chemicals. The chemical inertness of polyethylene combined with the seamless one-piece molding structure makes them suitable for long-term storage of strongly corrosive chemicals.

The rotomolding process naturally deposits more material at the outer corners most susceptible to impact, forming a natural reinforced structure. Combined with the stress-free forming process, rotomolded products have excellent drop and impact resistance.

Yes — we support any color from the Pantone (PMS) or RAL color charts. Color masterbatch is mixed directly into the raw material, so the color runs through the entire wall thickness consistently — no peeling, no fading at scratches.

Quality & Certification

Yes — the polyethylene (PE) we use is 100% recyclable, fully aligned with the global circular economy philosophy. The rotomolding process itself generates virtually zero material waste — no injection sprue, no die-cut scraps.

We hold ISO 9001:2015 and BSCI certifications. Our products are regularly exported to Europe, North America, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East.

We implement strict SPC (Statistical Process Control) throughout the production process. Every production batch undergoes dimensional inspection, appearance inspection, and performance testing.

Inquiry & Cooperation

Provide your 3D drawings (STP/STEP format) and estimated order quantity, and we will typically respond within 24 hours. If you don't have 3D files, providing physical samples, sketches, or reference products is also acceptable. Email: sales@lubanrotomold.com

Our standard MOQ is 50 units for most products. Samples (1–5 units) are available for quality validation before bulk orders. Custom or very large parts may have different MOQ requirements.

Tooling typically takes 4–6 weeks from approved design drawings. First samples are ready 1–2 weeks after tooling completion. Full production runs take 3–4 weeks after sample approval. Total from inquiry to shipment: typically 10–14 weeks.

Standard terms are 30% deposit on order confirmation, 70% balance before shipment. We accept T/T bank transfer and can provide a pro forma invoice.

Yes. Provide reference photos, hand sketches, or a written description with key dimensions, and our engineering team will produce a 3D concept model for your review — included at no additional charge when tooling goes ahead.

Process Comparison

Rotomolding tooling costs are typically 20–40% of equivalent injection mold costs. This makes it ideal for medium-to-low volume production runs where injection molding tooling investment would be prohibitively expensive.

Rotomolding produces large, seamless, hollow parts in a single piece — impossible or impractical by injection or blow molding. Typical large rotomolded parts include water tanks (10,000L+), septic tanks, kayaks, and industrial containers.

Yes — we warmly welcome buyer and brand visits. We are located in Qishi Town, Dongguan City, Guangdong Province — approximately 90 minutes by high-speed rail from Shenzhen or 60 minutes from Guangzhou.
